Our modern fitted kitchen comes with everything necessary for a luxury self-catered holiday. With its intimate dining table and breakfast bar, it offers comfortable dining facilities for a pair after a breakaway. Appliances are also available for everything from simple breakfasts to complex home cooking, ensuring the taste of home is never far away. Altogether, guests have access to:

Connected with the kitchen to form a comfortable, spacious room, the lounge delivers a cosy sophistication to ensure a luxurious space in which to relax after a day of adventure. Within this room, you will also have access to:

• TV
• Fireplace, perfect for the winter months

Whether staying for a short or long stay, (sorry no single nights) you’ll be sure to get a wonderful night’s sleep in the comfortable bedroom. A large double bed ensures ample room for two guests and the provided bedding has been chosen for its luxurious feel. There is also an ensuite shower room appointed with all the essentials throughout your stay. Guests have access to:

• Vanity table with mirror
• Hair dryer
• Large wardrobe with full-length mirror
• Decorative fireplace for those winter nights
• Ensuite shower room
• Double bed with accompanying nightstands 
• Luxurious bed linen and towels
• Spare pillows

Step in from a day of exploration into an airy porch area. Guests have access to:

Our small but intimate patio provides beautiful views of surrounding Yorkshire, easily enjoyed using the provided outdoor seating.

• One rocking chair
• One small side table

Penny Hedge Cottage offers private parking, ensuring our guests can park cars without worrying about street parking. Instead, you can walk from car to cottage in just a few easy steps. 

We do allow a well behaved, small family-sized dog at Penny Hedge. We do however ask for you to bring their beddings, towels, toys, and other essentials. 

Please note, dogs must NOT be left alone in the cottage. If concerned about pet-friendly businesses nearby, most pubs and cafes are dog-friendly and happy to welcome both you and your canine companion. Our neighbours also have a dog and use the garden in front of the cottage so pets staying at the cottage must be well-behaved and barking must be kept at a minimum.

Whitby walk is 6 miles. Other transport links are nearby, with plenty of ways to travel and explore what North Yorkshire has to offer.

When you arrive, we meet and greet you and hand over the keys. This is usually just around lunchtime, but we would be able to confirm that nearer the time to ensure check-in time suits everyone.

When you leave, we ask you to strip the beds and keep all linen to be cleaned together for us to collect when you have gone.
